Plates full of personality,
made to be passed
Sharing plates from the Balkan peninsula, cooked by a small family team in Walthamstow. The menu changes often, so order a few and pass them round.

The Lacy Nook started in 2016 as a restaurant in Stoke Newington, with one goal: tasty dishes with unique flavours, plates full of personality from the Balkan region. In 2023 we brought it to Walthamstow, the neighbourhood Elena has called home for eighteen years.

A small glass of walnut rakija is a favourite way to begin here, poured before the plates start arriving. We are a dine-in room rather than a delivery kitchen, so the best way to try everything is at the table, ideally with a booking.
If you are looking for a present, gift vouchers are a simple way to share the food and the cosy room with someone who matters, and to back a small family-run neighbourhood business at the same time.

Locals keep calling the food the best thing they have eaten in Walthamstow, coming back again and again and wanting to order every dish on the table.
The room comes up constantly as cosy, rustic and welcoming, with friendly, attentive staff from the moment you step in.
Tables are taken by bookings even when the room looks quiet, so regulars suggest reserving rather than chancing a walk-in.
